a passion at the age of six!

   Our sweet Asher has fallen in love with skating!!!  Those of you who know us well know that Doug and I are the farthest away from being “skaters”.  So how Asher got into it is way beyond me!!!!  Nevertheless,  he’s in love!  Never a day goes by when there isn’t a request to go to the skate park, rain or shine.  He is constantly skating back and forth through our living room.  And now, thanks to Doug (I say that with much contempt) Asher is playing a skate video game!!!

I know very well that things come and go with kids and this may be on of those things.  But, Asher is having so much fun learning how to skate and Doug and I are loving watching him work at something HE wants to get better at.   Love you Asher!!!! 

Carson turns 3!!!

Way back on June 19th our crazy Carson turned three!  Our whole family (minus the ones we miss who live in Nashville) went camping at Cove Palisades.  We all had bunches of fun!  While there, we celebrated Carson turning three, upholding a long tradition of celebrating birthdays while camping.  Thanks everyone for helping us give Carson a great birthday!

His other most favorite gift was his very own baseball bat from Grandma and Papa!

Sweet Asher was showing his brother how to swing his new bat.  He swung a few times then gave the bat to Carson to try.  The events that came next happened VERY fast!!!  Carson took the bat from Asher.  Asher bent over to fix his shoe.  Carson swung the bat and hit Asher right on the head!!!!!!!!!!  I saw it from far away and Asher didn’t react to it very quickly so I paused.  Honestly I didn’t know whether to laugh or run to him.  The sound of the bat hitting Asher’s head was hilarious!!  I know what you are thinking, “Oh my goodness Lynn Ann!  Your son just got hit in the head with a bat.  Why are you saying it was funny?”.  I guess it is one of those things where you had to be there!!  As you can see in the picture above, Asher was hurt and I did give him the comfort he needed.  There was no blood, not even a bump really, just lots of scared tears!!!  Poor Carson felt sooo bad.  You can hardly see him in the picture.  Auntie Em is holding him while he is trying to kiss Asher’s bump!  So sweet!

All in all we had a great time camping and celebrating Carson!!  Love you buddy!

Don’t judge me!

 

Yes, it has been 4 months but some things are worth waiting for!!  Like a kindergarten graduation!!!! 

A few months ago our sweet first born graduated!  It may have only been from kindergarten but it was a big deal non the less!  There were caps, gowns, cake, balloons and lots of very proud families.  Asher, we are very blessed to have you.  You are a great, undeserving gift from God.  We can’t wait to see all the things that God in going to do through you.
